Thank you for contributing to GAIA’s Accelerating Impact!
Under sunny skies, GAIA returned to live events on Sunday, with a vibrant, inspiring, beautiful gathering in the courtyard of Light Speed Venture Partners in Menlo Park. From the remarks by our terrific Global Citizen Award recipients (the Kingston/Pflaum Family and Gilead Sciences) to the surprise announcement of the Irene Norquist Sahyun Nursing Scholar Endowment, to the smile and wisdom of GAIA’s Joyce Jere (fresh off 33 hours of travel from Malawi), attendees were reminded why Bill Rankin and Charlie Wilson started GAIA in the first place… and how it is delivering on their vision.
The 148 guests responded with a hearty Live Appeal, raising over $142,848 in just ten minutes! Together with the $244,518 in pre-event income (sponsorships, ticket sales, and gifts from those unable to attend), the Accelerating Impact event raised over $389,366! These gifts will translate directly into action in Malawi, sufficient to operate 3 mobile clinics for the next year AND provide full scholarships to 20 Nursing Students!
Thank you for your support of this successful event. If you’ve not yet had a chance to contribute, please consider doing so HERE..... The $400K mark is in sight!
