Addressing Social Determinants of Health
Addressing Social Determinants of Health
GAIA addresses the social determinants of health to ensure rural Malawians are able to thrive. We address economic, educational, healthcare and environmental inequities and we bring communities together to strengthen interpersonal relationships and create an enabling environment for change.

Creating Access
Creating Access
GAIA creates access to quality health care now through the provision of community outreach services and mobile health clinics in areas far from fixed facilities and we are training the next generation of frontline health care workers to who will staff rural and remote health facilities in the future.

Meet One of Our Clients
Funny, a widowed mother of six, volunteers at the Chikonde stop of the Mkanda Mobile Health Clinics as a way to give back to her community and to thank GAIA for the impact they have had on her life. After becoming sick and testing positive for HIV, GAIA linked her to lifesaving treatment and her health has been restored. She has been volunteering with GAIA for over eight years.
